When the Student is Ready the Teacher Will Appear

That quote “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear” is a simple reminder that as our life unfolds, we can either learn and grow through our personal challenges, or we stay stuck, unconsciously attracting the same challenge over and over.

Magic happens when we begin to pay attention to the significance of those challenges. We ask ourselves “What lesson is this challenge trying to teach me?” We either dismiss our struggle, and feel there is nothing we can do, or we learn from it.

Freedom is in knowing that life is always happening FOR you instead of TO you.

What happens when we place high expectations on something and we are disappointed that it doesn’t go our way? We put an enormous amount of pressure on ourselves, expecting perfection. But it’s in those challenges, where transformation occurs. When we summon the courage within and take a deeper look at our thoughts and beliefs, and question whether they are fact or fiction. If it's the latter, it's probably a story we are holding onto.

Instead, we ask, “What if this doesn’t work out the way I planned, am I capable of seeing another option? Can I open my mind up to ‘This, or something better, is on its way?’”

When we can shift our mindset this way, we are able to gain more clarity in a situation, as well as getting in touch with our inner wisdom. We can rely on our “gut” feeling and know with conviction that we are moving in the right direction, despite the outcome.

When disappointment happens, can you find a way to retreat and review the situation with an open mind, to grow through it and find the hidden message? Each time we step into that power, we gain more self-awareness. That is the most valuable teacher out there.
